On Friday January 20 WGOT will be holding our 4th Anniversary Benefit Concert at The Atlantic in downtown Gainesville.

Come celebrate community radio and local culture at our 4th Anniversary Celebration Benefit. Local comedy will be followed by The Boswellians, Post Teens, and Whiskey & Co. We are looking forward to celebrating this milestone with those that helped us achieve it, you! Doors at 9PM. $6-10 sliding scale donation at the door.

WGOT’s next benefit concert will be held this Friday December 9, 2011 @ Durty Nelly’s, 208, W. University Avenue. Doors at 9, music begins at 10. The benefit features an acoustic set by Shark’s Teeth, Holy Ghosts, and TBA. Also WGOT DJ’s will be spinning music between sets. We wanted to have another benefit before the end of the year and we always enjoy chillin’ at Durty Nelly’s. Come out and support local music and Gainesville community radio. WGOT is holding their next benefit concert at the Laboratory, 818 W. University Avenue. We are happy to hold our first benefit at the Lab. WGOT will be a vendor at this year’s Vinyl Fiesta. A record swap to buy, sell, and trade featuring local and out of town dealers and others cleaning out their collection. The event is Sunday September 18 from 1PM-5PM at Boca Fiesta/Palamino Pool Hall, 232 SE 1st St.

Wednesday September 14 @ The Bull, 18 SW 1st Ave, Society Promotions is holding a Bruce Springsteen Tribute.

Gainesville’s best musicians pay tribute to the music of Bruce Springsteen. Bruce Springsteen’s lyrics describe an alternate mythology – one where ordinary lives became extraordinary and heroic, one where tragedy can be starkly beautiful and one where every victory is cracked and stained by loss and defeat. Don’t miss this amazing night of music.

Cost is on a sliding scale from $5 – $10 and will benefit 94.7 FM WGOT-LP, Gainesville’s independent, locally-produced, community-owned radio station.

The next WGOT Benefit concert and comedy showcase will be held at Loosey’s (the old Market Street), 120 SW 1st Ave, on 7/29. Enjoy music from Grabass Charlestons and the 15th Anniversary show of Crashpad. The benefit will also feature a Comedy Showcase with Evan Rocha, J C Currais, Tim Keck, and Jay Koger. Doors @ 9. WGOT Holiday Bazaar – December 11

Come to the Backyard at Bocamino (Boca Fiesta/Palamino) on Saturday December 11 from 1-5PM for our first annual Holiday Bazaar. There will be a yard sale, local crafts, pictures with Santa, and of course Chicken Poop Bingo. Yeah, that’s right. Come celebrate the holidays with WGOT and friends. Interested in being involved?
