I dunno, but I think we should leave sliced bread outta this. I mean, it is pretty cool, but it's not the 'be all and end all' to the problems of the human condition-- where will the audacity of sliced bread get us? And besides, at a local grocery store they sell a 5 grain bread 'baton' that one can chow into without even slicing it-- now that's cool!

But more to the point, of course, is Operative 42's negativity, sliced or unsliced-- anti-inept barbers, ant--south Florida zombies, anti-sellout George Lucus, anti-rant here, anti-rave there. I think the only positive manifesto to emerge from the Operative's lips of late was on the benefits of evil weed-- a somewhat redeeming move, if I can editorialize a bit, but likely too little, too late.

It's bad enough that the dissed zombies have already taken action (was I the only one to notice that WGOT was off the air almost all day the Thursday after the anti-zombie rant? I missed Front Porch AND Democracy Now-- double bummer, and to what end? -- zombies still roam and continue to infiltrate, esp. in government and other positions of authority). Just imagine if the zombies, barbers, ol' George and his diehard followers, and all the other ilk bad-mouthed by Op-42 join forces to take revenge? The dedicated band of gypsies at WGOT, even with the aid of their loyal listeners and the pro-weed lobby, would undoubtedly be helpless against the onslaught.

We can only hope that Op 42's tirades reflect situational negativity, and certainly the human condition, esp. over the last 8 years, was in shambles, but now that a new day has dawned and "Yes we can!" is becoming the established mantra, positivity will predominate the airwaves (as well as everywhere else).

Your forever faithful listener,

Dear Sirs: While I appreciate you recently addressing the serious and timely issue of south Florida zombies, and especially those behind the wheel (what with the price of gas, the need to inflate our tires, etc.), I was deeply disappointed with the lack of balance in your highly slanted coverage. Unless you have become zombieized yourselves, and I truly hope this has not happened because you do play some pretty cool tunes, surely you must be aware that zombies permeate our society, starting at the very top.

To emphasize south Florida zombies while giving short-shrift to those in governmental offices who invade sovereign nations without provocation, who refuse to believe the US has any responsibility to try to reduce global warming before it is too late to matter (if we are not already at that point), who think drilling here and drilling now is the answer to our energy crisis, who squander billions of US dollars in foreign lands while our own citizens can't afford health care or food, and who engage in other immoral, illegal, unjust and/or just plain stupid actions, does a grave disservice to zombies everywhere.

Surely we can expect better from a community radio station that is supported by donations of hard-working denizens of our fair city and its surrounding landscape. Please be aware that you speak for, and to, a broad spectrum of our local society, and consequently you must constantly be guided in your pontifications by this awesome responsibility. At this point I will stop short of demanding an apology to all zombies that have been slighted and demeaned, because you do play some pretty cool tunes. But please be advised so that in the future your manifestoes will no longer be so short-sighted and manifest such obvious bias, especially when they involve zombies.

You WILL be monitored....

Grak and Tom rule !!! Although Chuba says very little, what he does say is profound and poetic. Operative 42 says what needs to be heard.
