Sunday Jazz
Hosted by DJ Angri and Angelina (alternating weekly).
One hour block of jazz focusing on post-bop, jazz fusion, modern jazz, and avant-garde jazz. Angri does not claim to have any knowledge of jazz except what he knows and that is what he plays. Much of what I enjoy is the generation of musicians who came out of Miles Davis’ fusion in the late 60’s. Also attention will be played to more modern musicians who stretch the boundaries of jazz music. The following artists were featured on recent Sunday Jazz shows: Art Blakely, Bela Fleck, Bill Frisell, Chick Corea, Dave Holland, Donald Byrd, Miles Davis, Henry Threadgill, Jaco Pastorius, John McLaughlin, Joshua Redman, Keith Jarrett, MJQ, Ornette Coleman, Pat Metheny, Scorch Trio, John Zorn, Jack DeJohnette.
Airs: Sundays, 3-4pm.
